Job Title:

Research Assistant I/II (Ref.: H01/2022/082)

Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant I/II (Ref.: H01/2022/082) for innovative research projects in the themes of Screening Tests / Personalized Companion Diagnostics / Strategic Therapeutics Approaches / Advanced Medical Device Components based at the Hong Kong Science Park.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Driving research activities towards defined goals in specified timeline
  • Processing in data analysis and management 
  • Drafting reports and presentations relevant to the projects
  • Liaising with project collaborators and partners
  • Performing various laboratory administrative duties 
  • Supporting various Centre’s events & activities
  • Handling other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor(s)

Skills and Requirements:

  • Field of Study: Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Biology, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines. Holder of a Master’s degree will be considered as Research Associate
  • Fresh graduates with outstanding academic achievement and strong passion in applied research of biomedical instrumentation will also be considered
  • Fluent in English in both writing and verbal communications; clear and concise writing skills
  • Good time management with a strong sense of responsibility and research ethics
  • Self-motivated team player who can be assertive to achieve results

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (Ref.: H01/2022/081) for innovative research projects in the themes of Screening Tests / Personalized Companion Diagnostics / Strategic Therapeutics Approaches / Advanced Medical Device Components based at the Hong Kong Science park.

Job Description:

  • Leading project prospection with collaborators and technology partners, and undertaking follow-up actions
  • Providing technical solutions for ongoing R&D projects
  • Translating research outcomes into real use cases and commercially viable applications
  • Writing reports relevant to the projects, preparing paper publications and presentations and patent filing, as well as delivering convincing technical pitches to collaborators and partners
  • Handling other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor(s)

 

Skills and Requirements:

 

  • Field of Study: PhD degree in Applied Biology, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
  • Preferably with research experience in above mentioned four themes
  • With strong passion in conducting applied research of biomedical instrumentation
  • Fluent in English in both writing and verbal communications; clear and concise writing skills
  • Good time management with a strong sense of responsibility and research ethics
  • Mature, self-motivated, confident and able to work under pressure

 


Job Title:

IT Officer/Assistant (Ref.: H01/2022/083),

Applications are invited for appointment as IT Officer/Assistant (full-time or part-time) in the Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre (Ref.: H01/2022/083), on a two to three year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and Centre contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary for the full-time appointment, or on a fixed-term basis with Centre contribution to a retirement benefits scheme for the part-time appointment.
Applicants should possess a Higher Diploma or above in Computer Science or Information Technology related disciplines, and an MCSE, CCNA/CCNP certificate holder would be an advantage, preferably with some relevant work experience. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; have good communication, interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills; be self-motivated and highly organized; possess the ability to handle multi-tasks and work independently and as a team player.


Job Responsibilities:

The appointee will manage and maintain the information technology and computer systems for the Centre. The appointee will be responsible for, including but not limited to the following areas:
·      Set up and config the network server
·      PC installation & maintenance
·      Setup and configuration of end-user computer hardware, software and devices
·      Software and hardware administration such as system account setup
·      Configure Active Directory including the features of DNS, Group Policy, Permission, File Sharing
·      Basic printer support
·      Implement system backup and recovery
·      Perform troubleshooting and IT problem solving when necessary
·      Any other urgent support may be required
·      Have the knowledge of VPN set up
·      Zoom meetings support may be required
