ABIC 2026 Summer Internship Program: Immersive Biomedical Innovation GBA Study Tour

As part of InnoHK ABIC 2026 Summer Internship Program, our delegation of global interns participated in an immersive Greater Bay Area (GBA) Study Tour to Guangzhou on 30 July 2026, gaining first-hand exposure to the region's dynamic biomedical innovation landscape.

The delegation visited Xiangkang Medical, a leading integrated Contract Research Organization (CRO), Contract Development Organization (CDO), and Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) platform. The company specializes in medical device research, registration, and manufacturing. Through in-depth technical exchanges with industry experts, the interns gained valuable insights into the complete medical product pipeline and lifecycle management.

The program continued with site visit to Guangdong Medical Valley (GDMV), one of China’s world-class biomedical clusters and investment incubation platforms for biotechnology enterprises. Within the hub, interns gained valuable technical exposure to translational research and advanced precision medicine modalities supporting clinical applications. The interns also analyzed how pharmaceutical logistics, venture capital, industrial incubation, technology transfer, and strategic alliances synergistically accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical healthcare solutions.
