ABIC Supports HKLSS Summer Internship 2024
The Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre (ABIC), as a supporting organization, is delighted to congratulate the Hong Kong Life Science Society (HKLSS) on the success of their Summer Internship 2024 Opening Ceremony on June 20.
During the ceremony, ABIC's Centre Director, Prof. Anderson Shum, was invited to participate in a panel discussion, where he shared his insights on navigating careers in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) world. ABIC's Head of Business Development, Ms. Sigrid Chen, also attended the event as witness to show the Centre's support.
Following the ceremony, the internship students from HKLSS visited the ABIC facilities. ABIC's Research Director, Mr. Kentman Chan, warmly welcomed the young visitors and introduced them to the Centre's mission of transforming healthcare through precision instrumentation. Prof. Aviva Chow, ABIC's Co-Principal Investigator and Assistant Professor of the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy at HKU, and Mr. Zou Tao, ABIC's Research Assistant, captivated the audience with presentations on the Centre's innovative scientific projects, while also providing valuable career planning advice to the student interns. The internship students had the opportunity to tour ABIC's cutting-edge laboratories and interact with the talented and multidisciplinary researchers as well.
ABIC hopes this visit has inspired the students and looks forward to building more meaningful connections with HKLSS and the new generations
