From ABIC Lab to Global Impact: AxileLife Redefines AI-Driven Fertility Diagnostics at APEHC 2025
The InnoHK Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre (ABIC) is delighted to share that our Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Dr. Michelle Lo, CEO and Co-founder of AxileLife Limited (ABIC’s spin-off), delivered an invited talk at the 8th Asia Pacific eHealth Conference (APEHC) on 27 November 2025. The Conference is co-organized by the Hong Kong Society of Medical Informatics, eHealth Consortium & HL7 Hong Kong.
As a distinguished speaker at the symposium “What’s Next in HealthTech: From Novelty to Necessity in Patient Care”, Dr. Lo illustrated her visionary AI-driven invention in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), highlighting how advanced imaging, microfluidics engineering, and deep learning are reshaping fertility care.
Through introducing the next-generation Intelligent Reproductive Technology (IRT) framework that delivers objective, standardized, and personalized fertility assessment, her presentation showcased pioneering breakthroughs in label-free cellular profiling and deep learning algorithms validated on large-scale clinical datasets. This system is going to be clinically translated and implemented at Queen Mary Hospital, Kwong Wah Hospital, and HKU-Shenzhen Hospital in early 2026.
Dr. Michelle Lo’s insights reflect ABIC’s mission to bridge frontier science with real-world impact from empirical practice to precision medicine. As the Asia Pacific region advances toward integrated digital health ecosystems, AI-enhanced fertility care is rapidly becoming a clinical necessity.
The Centre extends sincere appreciation to the organizing committee for convening a meaningful platform for thought-provoking dialogues across academia, industry, and government. Congratulations to Dr. Lo for representing ABIC and China Hong Kong on an international stage, dedicated to advancing a promising future where reproductive healthcare becomes more precise, data-driven, and accessible to patients worldwide.
