Pitching Corner

The Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre (ABIC) is thrilled to announce the resounding success of the Pitching Corner held on 15 January 2024.

The Pitching Corner provided a platform for eight exceptional projects to showcase their potential for commercialization and translational impact. This exciting event was evaluated by an esteemed panel of judges, including:

• Prof. Andreas Bausch (TUM)
• Mr. Emmanuel Hui (CEO of Tiger Jade Pebble Accelerator)
• Prof. David Mooney (Harvard SEAS)
• Mr. Tianyi Qin (Investment Principal at Zhenfund)
• Ir. Dr Alfred Tan (Deputy Director, TTO HKU)
• Ir. Andrew Young (Associate Director of Sino Group – Innovation)

The winners of the Pitching Corner are:

• Most Favorite Pitching Award:

The “Saliva Mental: Dog Wellness Assessment Ball” developed by Prof. Anderson Shum’s team – Qiaoyi Wang, Song Chi and Ziyu Han Eric received the most votes from the attendees.

• Professional Judges’ Choice Award:

The “Image-based Single-cell Screening Assay Platform” developed by Prof. Kevin Tsia’s team – Dickson Siu impressed our professional judges the most, earning them the esteemed Talent Pitching Award.
