YASHK × ABIC:
How to Start a Research Project Workshop 2024
The Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre (ABIC) was honored to host an insightful visit for a group of secondary students from the Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences (YASHK) as part of their “How to Start a Research Project Workshop 2024 (「研知有你」工作坊2024)".
Brimming with curiosity and excitement, the students – ranging from Form 1 to Form 5 – were treated to an inspiring line-up of talks by ABIC's experienced researchers:
Prof. Aviva Chow shared the need for new lung disease treatments
Mr. Madhav Gupta demonstrated the potential of quantum technology
Dr. Qiaoyi Wang explained how mental health can be assessed from saliva
Ms. Ruihong Weng explored the future of brain-computer interfaces
The students also toured ABIC's state-of-the-art laboratories and engaged in insightful dialogues with the talented scientists and interns.
ABIC is delighted to support program initiatives such as YASHK's that nurture the next generation of researchers. Seeing the students' boundless energy and passion for discovery was truly inspiring. We look forward to welcoming more young minds to our Centre in the future, collaboratively pushing the boundaries of biomedical innovation!💡
